Will you be posting about any of the other tribes? I'm Chi raw and my people came to Indian Territory in winter beginning in 1831. it was called by one of our leader's The Trail of Tears and Death. just curious about what we might look forward to. Understanding that for reasons stated, you would focus on the Cherokee. However, I thought perhaps you might like to expand your reportage to include other nations. thank you for what you've done thus far. Last thing....Cherokee Nation actually came to Indian Territory to thick woods not plains. Though there are plains in Oklahoma, I'm pretty sure that the Cherokee Nation doesn't extend into the plains area. Thanks again for a good article obviously the result of good research. Not enough has been shared on the Trails of Tears and the Doctrine of Discovery that gave birth to the Trails. The DoD has been around and in place since the 15th .century and was eagerly and savagely used by any who chose to. it changed the outcomes for all indigenous peoples as well as the USA itself. looking forward to part 2.
